Description :

The successful candidate is responsible for identifying sales leads, growing a sales pipeline and closing deals within the supply chain environment. The candidate will be based in Sandton, but will be required to travel extensively within Gauteng, as well as some overnight national travel. The role requires a combination of creating leads through cold calling as well as pursuing opportunities created from other sales activities within the business. The role requires creating account plans and strategic account plans as well as selling within the RF x environment.

 

The minimum levels of work experience and qualification required for this role are:

  • At least 8 years sales experience
  • A track record of hitting achieving sales targets
  • An understanding of a solution selling sales process
  • The ability to present complex supply chain concepts to an audience
  • Ability to calculate and position return on investment and payback periods
  • Knowledge across construction industry required.
  • The primary responsibilities of this position are to:
  • Responsibility for industry segments / supply chain domain
  • Create a sales target list
  • Cold call and secure initial sales meetings
  • Identify and build interest
  • Guide the solution selling process by introducing Executive and Solution Development involvement as required to build the solution
  • Guide the process to identify the solution costs and price, managing the balance between operations and client affordability
  • Build the proposal and ensure internal sign – off
  • Close the deal
  • Handover to operations for successful implementation
  • In some cases, managing direct reports
  • The candidate will be comfortable with all supply chain concept, even though their previous experience may be slanted to a specific domain within the supply chain
  • Must be comfortable at selling across all levels within an organisation
  • Must be astute at co-opting the involvement from a multi- disciplinary pitch team

 

The role requires developing a solution sell with the prospect through presentations, demonstrations and where required coordinating technical discussions.
